Meet Shivanya
Born at just 24 weeks, Shivanya is one of the tiniest babies born in terms of pregnancy period and birth weight. She merely weighed 400 gms at the time of delivery.
Shivanyas preterm birth was a result of her mothers congenital condition - bicornuate or double uterus, in which a woman has not 1 but 2 pouches in the womb, one being smaller than the other. Shivanyas development took place in the smaller pouch; The miracle baby was born on 21st May 2022, through normal delivery, following which she had to spend nearly 3 months in our Neonatal Care Unit.
Despite the fact that babies born in such conditions tend to have a significantly low survival rate of not more than 0.5% she beat all odds and was discharged in good health after 93 days, weighing 2,130 gms. Our team offered constant support and ensured the best possible care to help Shivanya thrive in the toughest situations. She is now, completely healthy and enjoying her childhood like any other Toddler of her age.
