Meet Nirvaan

Nirvaan’s mother was just 22 weeks into her pregnancy when he was born, weighing just 610 grams. He is one of India’s most premature babies to be born who survived despite high odds. 

On May 12, 2023, Nirvaan’s mother was admitted to Surya Hospital on an emergency basis. Born through normal delivery, Nirvaan was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit soon after birth and put on an incubator to support his breathing. 

At the time of his birth, Nirvaan’s lungs were underdeveloped due to which multiple doses of surfactant injections were administered into the breathing tube to help his lungs expand. 

There were many complications like pneumothorax and brain bleeds, but Nirvaan, miraculously fought back and we made sure that nothing held him back by offering the finest care throughout. 

He was discharged from the hospital after 132 days, weighing 3.8 kg and in good health.
