At Surya Hospitals, we understand that children have to be treated differently from adults in order to properly restore the normal anatomical and physiological functions. Since every child is unique we endeavour to provide individualised surgical care to every child. Our paediatric surgery department has highly experienced paediatric surgeons, nurses, and support staff, who offer the best of care to your little one. Our OT is equipped with cutting-edge technology which enables our surgeons to operate safely on very low weight babies (less than 1 kg) to adolescents.

Our team of surgeons is equipped to cover both routine and extremely complex cases in newborns, infants, and adolescents. Depending on the case, we perform:

  • Day Care Surgeries
  • Conventional Surgeries
  • Minimally Invasive Surgeries

At Surya Hospitals, we believe there is nothing routine about any operation and our staff works towards providing exceptional surgical care that is both comprehensive and compassionate. We also offer a warm and friendly environment so that you and your family can feel at ease before and after the surgery.

  • Phimosis
  • Hernias and Hydrocoele
  • Undescended Testes

  • Urinary Tract Infections
  • Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus

To know the entire list of conditions, please visit the individual paediatric surgery pages.

What should I bring with me for the office appointment?

On your visit to Surya Hospital, please bring all your child’s medical records and imaging studies conducted. During the appointment, our doctors will examine your child and review these medical records and determine if surgery is required or not.

Will the surgery be painful for my child?

Our paediatric surgeons reduce the physiological trauma of surgery as much as possible. Most operations will involve your child being asleep during the surgery. This means that sedation or general anaesthesia will be administered. For most routine surgeries, your child will be completely pain-free one or two days after the operation.

How do I take care of my child after the surgery?

Your doctor will give you a list of instructions to follow once the operation is done. These instructions will be specific to the type of surgery. Please make sure that you visit your doctor for a follow-up appointment to evaluate your child’s condition.
