My wife underwent c-sec (LSCS) in 7 months of her pregnancy due to severe pre eclampsia. Baby born with only 1 kg weight and respiratory distress syndrome (RDS). We kept our baby in Surya NICU for almost 8 weeks. And taking discharges at almost 2 KG weight and normal vitals.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Dr. Sachin Shah, Dr. Amita, Dr. Ganesh and all the nursing staff. These two months’ whirlwind journey was really challenging for us but because of the utmost care of Dr. Shah Sir’s team, we are back to normal.

We have been consulting Dr. Sachin Shah since June 2008. The first time we met him, we had just landed in Pune and were barely 48 in the city. Our daughter was badly bitten by mosquitoes and we had contacted her doctor in hours Hyderabad who gave us Dr. Shah’s reference. Since that day up to now, he has been treating both our kids. He is simply fantastic-in terms of his knowledge, experience and ethics. He does not prescribe unnecessary medications and has a superb memory! He is a man of few words but great results. Thereafter just two weeks ago we had visited Surya Hospital for our 16 year old. At that time we consulted with Dr. Snehavardhan Pandey (Hepatologist) and Dr. Pathak (abdominal scan). Both these doctors were very patient and good in their respective areas. They answered all our queries and were very reasonable in their approach. Surya Hospital has a very good team- these are professionals who are good at what they do and do so because they like it. The front office reception staff is inundated with phone calls and walk-ins but they try their best to respond to each and every patient quickly. We have also referred a kid who had been misdiagnosed by another “reputed” hospital in the PCMC area to Surya. This was about 3 years ago when the dengue fever cases were pretty high in Pune. The doctors in this other corporate hospital located in the Dange Chowk – Thergaon area had been treating this baby for a viral fever due to which his health was not improving. The alarmed parents rushed him to Surya, where he got better and was allowed to go home.

Our quest for a good maternity hospital began when we were 5 months pregnant and when we came to know Hinduja Hospital in Mahim didn’t have maternity services. We were searching for a good maternity hospital, where we could get neonatal services, if need be. We were consulting Dr. Kusum Zaveri at Hinduja Hospital earlier, so we were very skeptical about the doctor and hospital we chose, we had to go for the best. We searched for hospitals with NICU across Mumbai, and we found Surya Mother and Childcare Hospital. We loved the way they approached pregnancy. Our hospital search was finally over. After seeing Surya you cannot like any other hospital. The reasons being, the panel of doctors, their acclaimed neonatal care, cleanliness, and care services.

We met Hiral Sarin, the highly efficient operations manager at Surya, who helped us out with each and every query. She also helped us choose a doctor. The best thing Hiral said was, they do not treat maternity patients as patients because they do not have any disease. Hiral has been our go-to person for any and every query pre and post hospitalization and she happily obliges.

We started consulting Dr. Dhrupti Dedhia from the 7th month onwards and she was very approachable and helpful with any doubts we had. On the day of delivery she was a rockstar, very efficient, with a clear mindset, and quick with her decisions. At hardly any maternity hospital/nursing home will the doctor do the normal delivery, it is mostly done by their interns, assistants, or nurses. This is one thing we clarified while signing up at Surya. We felt so safe at Surya because Pediatricians and Gynecologists were available round the clock. Every staff member, be it the receptionists, nurses, maushis, food servers, or housekeeping staff is well groomed and provide real good care. The icing on the cake was the food provided from the canteen, it was tasty, healthy, and neatly served. Hospital food was never so interesting.

All in all we had a very good experience at Surya, we know we would not get better care than we got here.
